Emirates Old Trafford Donates Food To Bread And Butter Thing

Staff at Emirates Old Trafford (Lancashire Cricket and the Foundation) have delivered a staff food donation campaign in March with staff at the Club generously donating to support local organisation The Bread and Butter Thing to help local people with the cost of living crisis

The need for food support in Trafford has significantly increased since the start of the year and the client profile of people accessing food support has changed with many people, even those in work, struggling to pay for food.

All the food items collected have been donated to the Bread and Butter Thing who are an organisation based locally in Trafford Park and bring nutritious, affordable food to the centre of the UK’s most deprived communities. We will also be working in partnership with The Bread and Butter Thing to redistribute any food waste at the club to the local community as part of our commitment to sustainability.

Mark Game, CEO The Bread and Butter Thing, said: “We’re completely bowled over by the support from Lancashire Cricket Foundation and we’re excited to be working together to help alleviate food insecurity for local families. Our members are struggling with the relentless challenges of the cost-of-living crisis, and this food donation will be very gratefully received.”

Lancashire Cricket Foundation will continue to support the local community and there will be food collection points in Pavilion Reception and the Point for the foreseeable future for anyone wanting to make a donation.

Lancashire Cricket are committed to improving our stadium’s energy efficiency, reducing our carbon footprint and inspiring others to take action. As a club, we have a newly formed sustainability committee that are working on new initiatives around the venue- keep your eyes peeled for more sustainability updates.

If you’d like further information about any of the initiatives we are doing as a Foundation and in collaboration with the Sustainability Working Group, please feel free to get in touch.
