Emirates Old Trafford hosted two of England’s 1966 Football World Cup winners as The Point held the Co-op Bank’s Charity Dinner for over 400 guests last month.
This unique event held in Manchester celebrated the 50th Anniversary of England's famous 1966 World Cup victory against West Germany at Wembley and the trophy took centre stage.
Several key guest speakers attended on the evening such as Sir Geoff Hurst, who scored a hat-trick in the World Cup Final, Gordon Banks, Viv Anderson, Phil Thompson and Lancashire County Cricket Club supporter and former England International Peter Reid.
In just the last couple of months, The Point has hosted major events The X-Factor, The Voice, Rugby League’s Man of Steel Awards, the Stadium Business Design and Development Summit and the Greater Manchester Sports Awards as well as concert hospitality for Rihanna and Beyoncé earlier in the summer.
Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive at Emirates Old Trafford said, “It’s brilliant to have such high profile footballing legends here at Emirates Old Trafford.
“The event was a great success and we look forward to welcoming the Co-op Bank back to Emirates Old Trafford in the near future.”
Kevin Duffy, Commercial Analyst from the Co-op Bank said, “The venue was fantastic. All the rooms we used had multiple screens allowing us to promote our charities. I particularly enjoyed the unveiling of The Point’s main space from its mezzanine bar to dramatic music which had such a positive effect on our guests.
“The food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone. The staff were fantastic - before, during and after the evening and nothing was too much trouble, the customer service was second to none.
He added, “I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Emirates Old Trafford. It superseded my expectations and I can’t wait to hold another event at the venue.”
